Roughin' it at LAX for the night

3 hours down, 9 to go...

semi-overcast 18 °C

I'm en route to Japan, and currently at the LAX airport for the night.

I left Vancouver this afternoon and flew from Vancouver to the LA International Airport (LAX). It was a 3 hours flight, and I flew with Alaska airlines. This was my first Alaska airlines flight, and it was actually quite nice! There was no in-flight entertainment, but the seats were very comfy and so spacious! Much more comfy than my other flights thus far.

I arrived at LAX at 9:10pm. Since I'm staying for 12 hours overnight they wouldn't transfer my checked luggage, so I picked up my bags and made my way from Terminal 6 to Terminal 2, where I'll be flying out of tomorrow with Hawaiian airlines. The Hawaiian gates were all closed down. After asking around, I heard that Terminal B, the international flights terminal, might be my best bet for camping out for the night. A few Information Desk workers assured me that it would be fine to sit in the arrivals area for the night. So, I found a chair, and here I am.

It was very busy when I first arrived, but now at 12:30am the airport is starting to die down. The final flight seems to be boarding now, and the janitor folk are beginning their shift. The air conditioning is beginning to blast. I'm happy I wore pants.,, have my hood pulled up for warmth.

Thankfully there is free wifi. However, my laptop battery is beginning to die, so I'll have to go on a mission before long to find a plug. I think I saw one near the elevator... here's hoping the cleaning staff are nice and don't kick me onto the street. ...it is my birthday after all!
